Idaho Trip

We just got back from our big Idaho trip. McCall was great but so hard to get to from here! We first drove straight to my parent's lake cabin close to St. Marie's Idaho. A long drive in the car from here- and painful. We were happy to be at the lake and appreciate it more every time we go there (although we wish it was closer). Solomon and Margo had a great time swimming in the lake and Solomon even decided to "swim" again. A skill he's had since he was two, he was swimming all over the place with his life vest on. Whatever makes him comfortable. We were just glad to see him having so much fun in the water again.
Margo loves the water too and wants to jump out of my arms. Mostly she splashes and sticks her face in it or tastes it.
Grammy, Papa and Aunt Kristi joined us for a day. We went into Harrison for the day, walked along the bike trail some, Sollie practiced riding his bike and did a great job. Jon got to go on a ride with my dad while we enjoyed watching the residents of Harrison (all 250 of them) enjoying Harrision days- or somethng similar. We wish the cabin was closer so we could visit more often!
Then we drove down to Moscow to visit more relatives. We stayed at Grandma T's house which is an easy walk to the pool- and what a pool it is. Complete with slides and water shooting every which way. Solomon was in heaven. We had a great time playing with Rosie there, although she would get cold and have to take breaks (not enough body fat), I think Solomon would have stayed in all day if we let him. We also had a nice visit with Bompa and Leslie at their place and had a nice dinner with them.
Next we drove down to McCall. It was hot! Crayons melted even with the air conditioner on. We were happy to be staying by another lake, which we promptly jumped in to. We stayed on the Payette Lake at Ponderosa State Park in Idaho- in a yurt. It was great! Margo had a relatively clean floor to crawl around on and we had beds to sleep in. We spent a couple of days by the lake visiting with realtives and my cousin Brenda was married. They seem very happy and well suited to eachother. It was a lovely "Idaho" wedding. Reminisent of our Idaho wedding, except ours was more low-key (i.e. my parent's back yard). Which actually was pretty similar to the lodge they held their wedding at (smaller scale of course). Any way, it was fun- better music then at ours, they had a blue grass band.
We spent anothere day after the wedding playing by the water and visiting with cousins. It was great spending some time with Matt, Erika, and Debbie. Hopefully it won't be too long before we see them again.
Then we drove halfway home to Walla Walla (the place so nice they named it twice!). It was really hot there! The pool at the hotel was unheated, we gleefully jumped in. One woman was rather loudly complaining to her boy friend about it while Margo was happily splashing around. I think the woman gave her some dirty looks. We then attempted to walk around downtown Walla Walla but it was just too hot, even at 6 p.m. Not sure how any one lives there. So we went back to the hotel, got some take out and watched some t.v. and enjoyed the air conditioning. We decided it would be much better in the Spring or Fall, without children so we could do some serious wine tasting. There wasn't a lot going on in the Summer ( I suspect because everyone was hanging out by their air conditioners).
We are really happy to be home and be out of the car, I've been slowly making it through the mound of stuff from our trip and doing lots of laundry today.
I'll post some more pictures soon. Now I have more laundry to do.
