Life with Solomon & Margo

Jon and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary last weekend. It's hard to believe five years have gone by... and that we have two kids now!
We enjoyed a day "pool side", i.e. having mixed drinks while sitting in the kiddie pool with this kiddos. Then we went out for dinner at "Chevy's". A kid friendly chain restaurant. Why fight it?
Grandma T came to town that night so we got away after Margo went to bed and saw a movie. That was a nice treat. Although Margo woke up while we were gone and wasn't thrilled but wasn't completely freaked out either. She's a little different from Solomon that way.
Both Solomon and Margo were delighted to spend some time with Grandma T. Solomon got to stay up late while Grandma read him books.
We went for a nice walk on labor day, ended up down by the water and had a surprisingly good lunch at a new restuarant down there. Then sadly we had to say good-bye to Grandma T, who had to make the drive back to Moscow.
This week we have been getting ready for Sollie to start preschool next week. Margo had to get ready too by trying out the church nursery upstairs from Sollie's preschool. Jon and I went to a preschool training and Margo and Sollie went up to the "play room". Sollie had a great time but Margo was pretty grumpy when I picked her up. Unfortunatley she's going to have to get use to it when I work in the classroom.
I made it up to Margo by having a play date with a little girl her age in the afternoon. We met Cordelia and Tena and a local coffee shop for mom talk and baby play.
We are getting geared up for Fall and a routine again. After lazing off a lot this Summer. Soon Margo will start a music class on the Monday mornings while Sollie is in school Margo and I will head off for a little music time just the two of us. Both kids will be swimming at the Y on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Lastly Sollie is going to try a ballet class at the Y on Friday afternoons. A friend of mine has her little girl signed up for the same class so he'll have a little playmate in class with him and hopefully we'll make friends with some more girls. Sollie just loves little girls.
Speaking of little girls, Sollie gets to hang out with his little friend Sienna next Tuesday as we're taking the kids to the Fair.
So we have some fun filled busy days ahead of us. A new routine to get use to. And some new friends and old friends to hang out with.
And of course Margo's first birthday is coming up!
