INFECTED

Solomon's nose has been one gummed up little bundle of yuckiness for far too long. He has also been coughing, especially at night and has coughed so much that he's vomitted. So last night Jon and I decided enough was enough, he most definetly has a sinus infection and it's time to take him in for the antibiotics. Something I hate doing, so I'll put it off, hoping it will clear on it's own.
At 3 am last night Margo woke up and had an unusually difficult time going back to sleep and just started screaming at me. I tried changing her diaper, getting her something to drink, getting her some milk.. maybe she's hungry? She wouldn't answer any questions, well she did but the answers were alwways, "NO, NO, NO!". Two hours later, she's still screaming, I'm delusional and frustrated and start stomping around the house looking for the benedryl, I dose her and then try to settle her back down. She continues to scream at me, Jon sends me away... I go lie down in Solomon's room, turn up the sound machine and try to fall asleep, finally, just as I'm dozing off a light bulb goes off in my mind, "EAR INFECTION!". Duh!!!! I'm so slow sometimes! Of course as soon as I realized it the huge wave of guilt washes over me for being a big insensitive meany.
I got them both into the Dr.'s office this morning and sure enough, ear infection in both ears! And she looked up Solomon's nose and it was apparently very swollen and she agreed that he has a sinus infection.
So now I could be getting some lovely napping in as a friend's parents took Solomon and his friend to Owen's Beach and I thought I would lie down with Margo, who has essentially been awake since 3 am, but she screamed, "No nap, no nap" at me several times and I just couldn't handle the screaming in my ear again for hours- so she's playing happily upstairs. Yes, I did give her some tylenol and some homeopathic ear drops. I'm just hoping she'll soon start to feel as tired as I do and decide to get some sleep. Oh, please, oh please.
