Mira's cold update

Mira has had a cold she caught from Margo since she was about a week old. It started out as a stuffed up nose and then turned into a cough. She was having these infrequent but long coughing fits and then would sometime vomit at the end. I've taken her in twice now to the doctor's office. Last week I took her in when the cough started and he said it was just a cold. The cough didn't go away and seemed to be getting a little worse even. So I took her back in on Monday and it turns out that she now has ear infections in both ears! They did a swab for whooping cough and RSV but I haven't heard back yet and she seems much better, so it must have been just a bad cold.

Poor baby! I can't believe she's been sick most of her life now and with ear infections. We've had a bit of a rough start, things seem to be smoothing out now.

I've been feeling much better. Pretty normal, with some light anxiety but nothing most moms of newborns must feel. I've been managing to get enough sleep in order to function and feel pretty rested most of the day. This means that I have to go to bed between 9 and 10 pm, which leaves me no time to myself... oh well. Life is not boring.

Margo has been regressing lately and is definitely feeling the crunch. We talk a lot about how things will get better and Mira will be more fun when she's older.
