Margo is getting her first tooth.
She can wave now and she made her first sign the other day- "cat" and she's been trying to make the sign for "all done".
She's been saying "mama" for awhile but has started to say "dada" recently.
I bemoaned the baby food world to her pediatrian for her 9 mo. appt. and she agreed the whole jarred baby food thing is a money making scam. Let's review... In the 20's people didn't feed babies any thing but breastmilk until after a year, then a children's hospital came up with "Pablum"- a fortified "baby cereal" . So in the 30's people started shoving it (literally) down babies throats, with the crazy idea that they would sleep better. I say literally because my mother admits to making the hole bigger in a bottle nipple so that we could suck the Pablum out at a ridiculously young age, like three months or something! Thus the baby food madness began.
I feel a little slow that it's taken me two kids to catch on that there's really no need to buy any pre-prepared baby food. Solomon took to eating so late it wasn't really much of an issue and I would make him things like sweet potatoes but he really ate pretty randomly and not much. Margo has no interest in the jar stuff or any mushy "baby food", she might take a couple of bites but then the rest goes to waste.
Any way, her Dr. gave her the go ahead for most everything. So she's munching away on whatever we happen to be eating. She had scrambled eggs for breakfast the other morning.
So that's that. Any one need a couple of jars of baby food?
