To the Hut!

We made it! We snowshoed, kids in tow, to the hut. We had to get up at 6 a.m. but we pulled it off and it actually went rather smoothly. I think we have discovered the key to successful outdoor adventures with children is to be ultra-organized.
We arrived at the hut just in time for some lunch, which was our goal. After munching on some sandwiches and other snackies the kids enjoyed playing in the loft. They thought the mats up there for sleeping on were too much fun. They both complained when we told them it was time to go out and play in the snow, I think they could have played in there all afternoon. Which makes going up and spending the night some time next Winter a real possiblity.
What a cool place. I'm surprised we've lived here this long and we are just now discovering it. There are other huts to hike to as well but I think this one is probably the only realistic one we'll ever be making it to (with kids).
If you live in the area and you're curious as to what I'm talking about, check out the Mt. Tahoma Trail Association. Today we hiked to Copper Creek Hut.
We didn't take many pictures, as we were too buys snowshoeing and such but I'll post what we did take later.
Gotta go get kiddos to bed.
