Procession of the Species
We had a fabulous day yesterday down in Olympia. First we went to the Farmer's Market and had some lunch and listened to some music, then strolled by the water and threw some rocks in. Strolled down some more to a playground, where the kids had a great time playing with other children. Margo used a public restroom and gave peeing a try when I discovered she had a dry diaper. She didn't go though, she has yet to go on a foreign potty. But she's been using the potty at home more and more. Any way, after that we walked over to downtown Olympia and went to "the" toy store and bought Solomon a sweet knight costume to go with Margo's Renaissance dress. I promised him a wooden sword at the fair, so he's excited. Then we found a curb and drew on the streets of Olympia with chalk.
The parade was great again, as usual. It's so fun to see all the lovely, creative and colorful species people come up with . A crow man gave Solomon a coin dollar, I haven't seen one of those in ages. How special is that? Thanks crow man! Solomon is treasuring it, I just hope he doesn't lose it. Margo's face as all the butterfly, bugs, polar bears, etc... traveled by was priceless. This year we had some snow and what lovely snow they were all blue and white sparkly. I missed the volcano from last year with the little flames running out of it but I suppose you have to mix things up. All the lovely batik wind socks and cloth streaming in the Spring air is always a treat. After the parade we headed over to Old School Pizzeria for a slice of the best pizza in the entire Puget Sound. Yum. Solomon was more interested in the video game table we were sitting at and was pretending to play Ms. Pac Man.
All in all a great day.
Scary Poop!
Last night when Margo was taking her bath she suddenly had to poop, so she wanted out and she got on her potty (way to go Margo). She looked down and watched the poop coming out and got scared. This is the first time she's seen herself pooping. It was really pretty funny. She was still talking about the "scary poop" as she was trying to fall asleep last night. I did my best to assure her it was perfectly normal and how poop comes out of every one's bum like that. So now she's talking about "mama's bum poop" and "dada's bum poop". Pretty funny. Hopefully she'll get over the fear and we won't have some kind of poop hang up.
