Ishmael

So now the other cat is sick. He was acting pecular for about a week. We just thought he was trying to work out a hair ball and we were mostly irritated with him. Poor old man. Then he took a turn for the worst and I realized how sick he was. He wasn't eating and he's lost a lot of weight, he hasn't been grooming himself and he peed on my bed the other night. Oh yeah, and then there was the loud moaning that woke me up at 1:30 in the morning. Hey, dummy, you have a sick cat! I took him in Monday morning and they ran a bunch of test on him and determined that he most likely has pneumonia. Weird, huh? He's on antibiotics now and some strange antihistimine medicine that is suppose to stimulate his appetite but so far hasn't worked. I bought some super rich, fatty cat food that cats were suppose to love and he didn't touch it. So I mixed some with water and forced fed him a little. It's been at least a few days since he's eaten anything and I don't want a cat starving to death when he hopefully will just get better with the antibiotics. The bummer part is, you know besides my dear old cat being on death's door, is that we most likely won't be going to Moscow for the Ren Fair this year.

Margo has also been sick. She vomitted the other night after the Procession, just as she was drifting off to sleep and then again first thing Sunday morning. Then she had diarrehea all day long and into the night. I woke up Sunday night because I heard her saying, Uh- oh Mama, uh-oh" and I reached over towards her and my hand landed in a puddle of diarrehea (one of the parenting moments when you're thinking, is this really my job to deal with this?) She apparently had an attack in her sleep and then woke up and tried to take her diaper off. Now that she's not nursing at night (usually), I've been sleeping heavier, so she probably had been trying to get me up for a couple of minutes and then decided to take matters in her own hands. I had to change all the sheets and wash her up. Then it happend again later that night, only this time it was more contained. So it's been fun times around here. Margo is better now and the diarrehea has stopped, Zilpah goes in to get her stitches out tomorrow... we just need to get Ishmael better now.
