I was thinking about attempting to make some paper beads with the kids. We bought a nice kit for Rosie that came with pre-cut paper and a special roller tool that worked well. The only problem is you're not recycling paper with that kit. The tool was helpful though, I wonder if you can find one some where else.
Then I saw some coasters for sale from a cooperative in the Phillapines. It's the same idea as the beads, using old newspaper, magazines and folding it and then spiraling it up to make boxes, coasters... Very cool.
We made some candles and some lanterns the other day. I bought some brackets at a local hardware store and got them mounted on the fence- they look great.
My only suggestion is to not go too long with the wire handle, the longer it is the more likely it is to bend while hanging.
