seperation anxiety

Today was the longest I have ever been apart from Margo! I went to a conference up in Seattle today, left at 7:30 am and returned home at 6 pm. Both Margo and I did pretty well :) I took the bus up to Seattle and knitted, sat in three conference sessions and knitted and then knitted away on the bus ride home. I can't believe how much I got done today. I finished the wool soaker bottom for Margo. It ended up with several mistakes but hey it's a diaper cover- and it's the first thing other than a scarf I have managed to complete. I had a problem with the short rows, which is a technique to add a little shaping, in this case some tush room in the rear of the soaker. On one side I did just fine but on the other side I ended up with little holes. Even after I was aware this was happening and tried to fix it I kept ending up with holes. Then I slipped a stitch in the bum and didn't notice until too late and ended up with a cute little hole there. I sewed them up and it's fine, fine enough for a diaper cover any way. I did manage to do the intentional holes right! Hurray for that. I would take a picture and post it but it's soaking in lanolin right now.
I also got unblocked on the sweater I've been working on and made some more progress on that. I now have a front half finished to go with the back. I was going to start the other side tonight, as Jon is stuck in with Sollie who is taking forever to go to sleep, but my eyes are feeling fatigued.
Any way, I sure missed my little girl today- even tough it was nice to get away. I got the best hug when I returned and she even said, "missed you mama". How sweet is that?
Solomon on the other hand has been more challenging lately and has been experimenting with things like hiding his food and saying he finshed eating it, falling on the ground and pretending to be injured So I really just plain enjoyed the break from him. Of course I do love the little stinker though.
